Vehicle Safety Ratings & What They Mean

At Honda Cars of Corona, our first concern is that you’re safe when you’re out on the road driving, and our second concern is that you’re an informed driver when making a vehicle purchase. They are many factors that drivers take into consideration when buying a car, and safety is usually right up there on top. Knowing the vehicle safety ratings and what they mean can be important.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) offers ratings based on stars with 5 stars being the highest. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) offers safety ratings based on poor, marginal, acceptable and good with good being the highest possible score. Look for vehicles with the most “good” scores and the most stars.

If you have more questions or want some safety information on a specific vehicle, pay us a visit and speak to your trained staff. While you’re there, take out one of our vehicles for a test drive.
